SLO-MO

Forever Cookin' Promotions is very proud to announce the arrival of a brand new midweek clubnight to Glasgow's vibrant party scene.

SLO MO promises to deliver a sweet and intoxicating blend of some of the finest dance music produced in the last 50 years. From rockabilly to Motown soul, from ska to classic funk, from re-edited disco to deep melodic techno, this fortnightly Thursday jam session will feature four highly skilled and knowledgeable residents plus a selection of their biggest local Dj heroes.

Their resident team comprised of Robin Firth, Stuart Holbeck, Chef De Party and Charles Gardiner will have over 50 years Djing experience between them and have played in some of the finest clubs in the country. Their forward thinking approach to modern electronic dance music is combined with a connoisseur's passion for collecting classic tracks from across the past 5 decades and beyond.

We hope that you can join them for the birth of their new project at The Flying Duck in Glasgow on Thursday the 15th April. Here's a nice little mix from Chef De Party to get you in the mood. Not to be missed....

Burnt Island Casuals

Never heard of 'em... Well, you will soon, cos it's actually a new disguise for Harri & The Revenge. Blimey, do these people never leave the studio? What's bad for their Vitamin D levels is great for our record collections, because the pair have come up with an absolute belter here for the great Under The Shade label.

"Scotch Hop" is a typically groovin' boogie-house number, using a sample from Larry Levan's mix of "Hopscotch" by Gwen Guthrie. "Truth & Temptation" takes The Temptations great Norman Whitfield produced uplifting psyche-soul bomb "Ungena Za Ulimwengu" ("Unite the World") and fixes it to a driving disco-house rhythm creating an absolute monster. With The Revenge on an absolute roll right now, you know this is gonna be huge!. A great addition to your record collection....
